Trailers XIV.

Pain And Gain- Its a new film about a muscle head that tries to scheme a plan with a really big muscle head who doesn’t want to kill people. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Anthony Mackie as three guys sick of where they are in life. So, they kidnap and rob the wealthiest guy at the gym. That works fine until the proverbial shit hits the fans. The movie also stars Rebel  Wilson, Ed Harris, Ken Jeong, and Tony Shalhoub.

This Is The End- So, the whole gang from Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, etc is back in a film where everyone plays themselves and the world is ending. They have videotaped their accounts of the apolcalypse and the list of people in this film is out of this world. Paul Rudd, Emma Watson, Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchel, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, David Krumholtz, James Franco, Danny McBride, Kevin Hart, etc. There are a lot of people and this has me so excited to want to see this. The trailer itself is a redband trailer because of the foul language so beware.

Oz, The Great And Powerful- I didn’t know what to think when I first heard that they were making the prequel to the Wizard Of Oz. I always had the impression that great works of art are better left alone. Then, i remember hearing that it was going to explain how the wizard became the wizard of Oz and it made sense. So, the original Wizard Of Oz was airing one day on TBS and I watched it. There was a scene when the Wizrad was explaining to Dorothy that he was also from Kansas and that is when it clicked. So, here is the tariler to the film that stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz.

Scary Movie 5- I always found that when they come out with a fifth movie in a franchise, it’s because they need money so they’ll tap the old well for more. I also find it funny how A Haunted House with the original writers of Scary Movie is covering the same idea as Scary Movie 5, they’re both making fun of Paranormal Activity. This one features Katt Williams, Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Heather Locklear, Molly Shannon, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Terry Crews, and Jerry O’Connell. Much like most of the spoof movies that come out, this one touches on Inception and The Black Swan to name a few.

Aftershock- So, apparently Eli Roth may have the most badass movie of 2013 in this film about how human nature can be scarier than mother nature. Eli Roth plays Gringo and he is on vacation in Chile and is searching for some real fun. So, he is taken to an underground nightlclub and apparently a society (I believe) and all hell breaks loose when an earthquake happens. The goal now is to reach the surface, but apparently that isn’t easy.

Turbo- If there was ever a trailer that was misleading to it’s public, it is this one. There is nothing interesting about this trailer after you realize that it isn’t a racing film, but about a snail who thinks he can race. Check it out for yourself.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone- This is going to be amazing as Steve Carell, Jim Carey, Steve Buscemi, and Alan Arkin team up in this movie about magicians.  It’s the classic tale of the old vs the new as Steve Carell and Buscemi are your old school style magicians going up against the new school like Criss Angel in Jim Carey. Carell apparently splits from his partner (Buscemi) after Jim Carey steals all his thunder. He hangs out with his favorite magician when he was a child (Arkin) and relearns why he fell in love with magic in the first place. This looks like it’s going to be really funny.

Identity Thief- So we have a comedy from the director of Horrible Bosses (Seth Gordon) and the producers of Ted comes this film about a man (Jason Bateman) who is a victim of identity theft. So, to clear his name he goes on a trip to Florida to grab the woman (Melissa McCarthy) who has stolen his idenity. He has to bring her back and avoid all the crazy people after her. This looks like it could be the comedy of the year because Melissa is funny and Jason Bateman has had a resurrection in his career over the last five years. The movie also stars Amanda Peet, John Favreau, Robert Patrick, and John Cho.

The Great Gatsby- All I ever really knew about this was that it was a really famous book that I never read. All I can tell about the trailer is that my least favorite actor Tobey McGuire plays a man that is fascinated by the man known as Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). Tobey’s character is then a witness to a web of obsession and tragedy as secrets about the man start to unfold. Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgarton, and Isla Fisher co-star in this film due out in May.

Smurfs 2- Believe it or not, I still have not seen the first Smurfs film and by the looks of this one, I am not that interested. I was never a huge fan of the cartoon which probably is the reason why I have delayed watching the first film. Check out the trailer below:
